Terms of Service
Last updated: 29 April 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of DigAjo's mobile app, web platform, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, a resident of Nigeria, and have a valid Bank Verification Number (BVN) or National Identification Number (NIN) to use DigAjo.
2. Your account
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
- You must not share your account, password, or transaction PIN with anyone.
- You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.
- One person, one account. Duplicate accounts will be flagged and may be suspended.
3. Ajo circles
- When you join a circle, you commit to all contributions for the entire cycle.
- Missed contributions trigger a penalty (configured at circle creation).
- Repeated misses may result in removal from the circle. Funds already contributed are returned, less applicable penalties and platform fees.
- Once payouts have begun, members cannot leave the circle without all members' consent.
- The administrator of a circle has limited authority — they cannot move funds, only pause or close the circle with all members' agreement.
4. Funds and transactions
- Funds are held at a regulated microfinance bank, separate from DigAjo's operating capital.
- Transactions are processed through licensed Nigerian payment infrastructure.
- The Central Bank of Nigeria stamp duty (₦50) applies to transfers ₦10,000 and above.
- Bank charges levied by your bank are passed through at cost.
- Platform fees are clearly disclosed before any contribution or payout.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use DigAjo to:
- Launder money or finance terrorism.
- Defraud other members or DigAjo.
- Impersonate another person or use a false identity.
- Attempt to access another user's account without permission.
- Interfere with the technical operation of the Service.
Violations may result in immediate account suspension, fund freezes (subject to regulatory clearance), and reporting to Nigerian law enforcement.
6. Limitations of liability
DigAjo is not liable for losses caused by:
- Disputes between members of a circle.
- Network outages outside our control (your bank, internet, mobile carrier).
- Force majeure events (regulatory shutdowns, natural disasters, war).
- Your failure to keep your credentials confidential.
Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the platform fees you have paid in the twelve months preceding the claim.
7. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your account for breach of these Terms, fraud, regulatory inquiry, or extended inactivity. Where lawful, we will give you notice and the opportunity to appeal. Funds held in active ajo circles will be returned in accordance with the circle's payout schedule.
8. Dispute resolution
Most disputes are resolved through our support team. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it will be settled by binding arbitration in Abuja, Nigeria, under Nigerian law.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by in-app notification and email at least 14 days before they take effect.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
